Samson Pike is fresh out of prison following a 25-year bid for agreeing to take the fall on a murder he did not commit. Assured a handsome payday upon release, Sam is disappointed to find that things are not going to turn out in his favor. The old boss, George Shand, and his crooked-cop son, Roy, provide Sam with accommodation back on his old Hollywood stomping grounds and vow to make good on their agreement so long as Sam stays put.
Esra Simone, a high-end Transgender escort, offers Sam his only prospect to make current ends meet by chauffeuring her around from client to client and providing any muscle she may need. With a goal of eventually saving enough money to send her young son to a better school, and earn acceptance as the boy’s father, she sees Sam as a safe bet, legally, being an ex-con who is intent on making good with his own son, who suddenly seems to not want anything to do with him following his release.
Sam accept Esra’s offer and, as the nights wear on, the two begin to let their guard down. Sam finds himself questioning his own values as his heart is continually tugged upon, and Esra finds her own curious interest growing toward the first person she’s ever caught feelings for in a long time. But when one of Esra’s clients suddenly dies during a clandestine rendezvous, Sam insists on cleaning up the pieces, and Esra will need to decide just how much of her life she’s willing to sacrifice in order for Sam to keep her safe.
